Slovenia narrowly beats Croatia for third place

The Slovenian team beat Croatia by 7 points for a 91-84 win in the closest Group B match of the 2010 World Basketball Championships here on Monday.
Nearly 7,000 fans showed up in Istanbul’s Abdi Ipekci Arena to watch the Slovenian victory putting the team in third place in its group behind the U.S. and Brazil, who will be playing each other on Monday night.
Istanbul launches fashion week

Istanbul kicked off its third annual fashion week on Wednesday, as part of the European Capital of Culture 2010 activities.
Istanbul Fashion Week 2010 features 21 catwalk shows from 20 designers and 6 brands, where Turkish designers present their Spring/Summer 2011 collections.
The event showcases not just the Turkish fashion community but also the Turkish textile industry, including the Istanbul Textile and Apparel Exporter Associations (IHKIB), one of the organizers of event.

U2 tickets on sale for the Istanbul concert

Tickets for the Istanbul concert of world-famous rock group U2, playing Sept. 2, have gone on sale all around Turkey.
According to a statement made by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts, or İKSV, tickets for the concert, being organized by Live National in collaboration with Pozitif, İKSV and the Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency, were previously only available from the Biletix website.
